While the pandemic led many consumers to shop online, don’t write off brick-and-mortar stores just yet. A 2021 study by Deloitte found that more than 60 percent of shopping still takes place in stores. What has changed is some of the categories consumers buy online. (In today’s hybrid work world, office equipment is a big online seller.) Here are the categories of items consumers were buying most online and in physical stores in 2011 and 2021.
