Kylie Jenner: Youngest Social Media Billionaire

There is no shortage of stars within the Kardashian-Jenner clan, but in business, youngest sister Kylie Jenner may be the brightest star of them all.

Earlier this year, Forbes proclaimed Jenner the youngest self-made billionaire ever, at the age of 21. How did she get there?

Kylie Cosmetics, the beauty brand she launched in 2016, reportedly made $360 million last year, and Forbes estimates that the company is now worth $900 million.

Then there is the money Jenner has made as a reality star on shows such as Life of Kylie and Keeping Up With the Kardashians, and through endorsement deals for brands such as Adidas.

Much of the reason for her success is “the power of social media,” she told Forbes. Jenner has more than 135 million followers on Instagram, 27 million followers on Twitter, and 22 million followers on Facebook. And she knows how to leverage them. She’s the highest-paid Instagram star, commanding up to $1 million per sponsored Instagram post, according to Instagram scheduling company Hopper HQ’s Instagram Rich List 2018, which tracks what social media influencers can make on the social network.

If past behavior predicts future performance, Jenner likely has many business ventures ahead of her. Whatever comes next, it’s a good bet that her social media followers will be along for the ride.
