Vice President – Diversity, Equity & Inclusion, Zimmer Biomet
Willard is currently Vice‐President, Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) for Zimmer Biomet (ZB). He is a member of ZB’s Global HR Leadership Team and is responsible for developing and executing ZB’s global, enterprise‐wide strategies for DEI embedding its principles in Talent Acquisition, Talent Management, Leadership Development, and Culture. Prior to joining ZB, Willard was a Vice‐President in Human Resources and Global Head of Diversity & Inclusion (D&I) for Pfizer. Before Pfizer, Willard spent fourteen years in a number of functional and business leadership roles with Cargill, Inc. Willard’s approach to leadership in human capital management focuses on wholesale systemic change and transformation to drive value‐creation and enable business strategies by leveraging best practices in Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Talent Management. He is a recognized thought‐leader and has spoken at events such as WorkHuman, Catalyst, and Diversity Best Practices. A banker and strategist by training, Willard uses his experiences leading businesses to operationalize human capital strategies for maximum impact, return on investment and sustainability. He is a member of the Executive Leadership Council (ELC) and sits on the Business Advisory Council for the Human Rights Campaign (HRC), America’s largest civil rights organization working to achieve LGBTQ equality. He holds a bachelor’s degree magna cum laude in Economics from Morehouse College in Atlanta, Georgia where he was an Oprah Winfrey and Merrill Scholar. He received his Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Virginia’s Darden School where he was a Consortium Fellow. Willard is a former Luce Scholar who has lived in Asia, Europe, and worked on six of seven continents.
