Lestina Price is the Chief of Obstetrics & Gynecology at Kaiser’s Los Angeles Medical Center. As Chief, she leads a department commitment to build strong relationships between the nursing, pediatrics, and anesthesia teams to improve communication and the quality of the care we deliver to women in both inpatient and outpatient experiences. Personally, she has an unwavering commitment to providing services that advance the well-being of all women including being an instrumental part of creating an environment that tackles burn-out and considers the everyday experiences of her colleagues.
Since completing her OB/GYN residency at Kaiser’s Los Angeles Medical Center, Dr. Price has served as Director of Labor, Delivery, and Postpartum, on the OB/GYN Quality Assurance Committee, the LAMC Perinatal Patient Safety Program Committee, the LAMC OB/GYN Residency Program Evaluation Committee, and is a SCPMG Physician Ambassador.
Dr. Price earned a Bachelor of Arts- Social Welfare from the University of California, Berkeley, Master’s Degree in Public Policy from University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Policy & International Affairs, a Medical Degree from University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine, and Albert Schweitzer Fellow at the University of Pittsburgh, and completed her residency at the Kaiser Permanente, Los Angeles Medical Center.
In her spare time, Dr. Price serves on the Health Committee Transition team at Great Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church, is Circle of Friends Founders at Kidspace Children’s Museum, and the DominicanJustice Committee at Flintridge Sacred Heart School. When asked what keeps her going and where she draws her strength she states her love of God, her husband, Kenyon Price, and has two teenagers.
