Esther Hare
Sr. Director, Worldwide Developer Marketing, Apple
Esther Hare has worked at Apple for over 16 years. She was drawn to Apple not only for its focus on iconic products, but also because of the values, culture, people and ability to make a difference. Since joining the company Esther has played a key role in helping to inspire and grow the number of women that become involved in the app economy. She is also the executive sponsor for Women at Apple where she touts the importance of diversity in the workforce and creating unique programs for youth, women and budding entrepreneurs from backgrounds that have been historically underrepresented in technology. Esther manages Apple’s scholarship program for WWDC, which has empowered many thousands of students from around the world to take part in the conference each year. Esther is also instrumental in Entrepreneur Camp, which supports female founders — as well as cohorts for Black and Hispanic/Latinx founded and led companies — and the technologists behind them. The goal of the camp is to help entrepreneurs as they work on the next-generation of cutting-edge apps and to form a global network that encourages the pipeline and longevity of people from historically under represented backgrounds in technology. Esther has an undergraduate degree in Computer Science from the University of Kent at Canterbury in England, spent a year as part of the License d’Informatique program at the Université de Paris Sud XI, France, and holds an MBA with a concentration in Marketing Management from San Jose State University, California.
