Regional Vice President of Human Resources for South America at Newmont
Debbie Leyva joined Newmont in 2019 as Regional Vice President of Human Resources for South America. She is a strategic Human Resources leader with over 20 years of experience leading transformational change, aligning corporate culture to corporate vision and developing high performing Human Resource organizations and teams. Before Newmont, she served as the Head of Human Resources for Etihad Aviation in Abu Dhabi. Prior to that, she was the Vice President of Human Resources LATAM Airlines Group and the General Manager of Hermes Aviation. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in the Anahuac University in Mexico and an M.B.A. from Adolfo Ibañez University. Debbie is also a certified Coach from the International Coaching Community.
HR Business Partner to the Chief Operating Officer and a member of the Operations & Projects Leadership Team; Supports the delivery of global HR programs which enable Newmont’s long-term human capital strategy.
• HR Business Partner to Executive Leadership Team: Leads the team of Corporate HR Business Partners which support the CEO’s direct reports, ensuring the consistent delivery of HR programs and alignment to Newmont’s long term human capital strategy, through all functional teams.
• Technical Training: Leads the Community of Expertise providing direction and oversight for global technical, operational training content.
• The GE, HR is a member of the EVP, HR’s Global HR Leadership Team, and advises on a wide variety of organizational initiatives which impact the entire company.
