Tom Murray is a Human Resources executive with extensive experience in HR management. As Senior Vice President of HR for Dell– the largest privately controlled technology company in the world – Tom oversees the HR strategy aligned to the business goals for both the Global Sales and the Chief Marketing Offices. Leading a global team, he continues to ensure that 138,000 team members are able to contribute to the overall company strategy as well as meet their personal careers goals supported by the company’s “culture code.” Prior to the combination of Dell and EMC, Tom served in a dual role as EMC’s Chief Talent Officer and HR business partner to Bill Scannell, President of Global Sales.
Tom plays a pivotal role in Dell and EMC’s integration efforts, and is recognized across the company as a strong and trusted advisor to executives and senior leaders. Through his understanding of complex business layers, market competition, talent, and challenges of the business, Tom drives mission-critical HR strategies to solidify the unique financial and business objectives for the company.
Tom cultivates a globally inclusive workforce with targeted outreach to diverse candidates. Tom graduated from Bates College and lives in the Boston area with his wife and three children. He serves on the Board of Directors for Horizons for Homeless Children, one of the few organizations in Massachusetts focused exclusively on the needs of homeless children and their families.
